What are the hidden dangers to Addiction?

Addiction can be costly and time consuming. This results in a severely limited lifestyle.

For long-term sustainable recovery conventional therapy is not effective - a new approach is required.

Effective treatment involves one-to-one work and aims to draw a line under your past, focusing on the reality of the now.  You will be supported in taking practical steps to beat your addiction and to achieve a fulfilled lifestyle.

Many people are surprised by the huge amount of free time they acquire in recovery.  The greatest gain however is not financial but emotional freedom – A freedom that enables relationships and intimacy to deepen.

    How is addiction formed?

When habits or behaviours such as drinking, drug taking or gambling come to dominate daily life and you find yourself powerless to stop the chaos, despite many promises to do so, it is time to seek professional help.

Addictions can be formed to any activity or behaviour which allows you to escape from life and its problems.  It includes shopping or spending, sexual activities, gambling, food, prescribed and illegal drugs, alcohol and even other people.

    Is it Treatable?

Alcoholism and other addictions are defined by the World Health Organisation as diseases.  Sadly alcoholism and drug addiction are on the rise in the UK.  Deaths due to alcoholism have increased by 20% in four years.  Binge drinking and liver disease are also on the rise.  Addiction is a treatable disease.

    Private Treatment

Specialist addiction recovery therapy is essential for recovery.

Alcoholism and addiction are life threatening diseases, yet many people resist the idea of treatment. We tell ourselves that we can 'do it ourselves' or 'we don't want anyone to know', or 'it's too expensive'.

    Quality Approach

Care is offered using recognized and respected forms of treatment; such as the Minnesota 12 Step Model and CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy).

    Tips

Create healthy boundaries on whatever you are addicted to.  Do not go to where you may be tempted to relapse into addiction again!  Good luck.
